GAME BLOG: ORIOLES VS. RANGERS

End 3rd: Orioles 8 - Rangers 1
By: Ben Raby
BALTIMORE - A steady drizzle has started at Camden Yards, but not even the rain can cool off the Oriole offense. Baltimore picked up four more runs in the third, giving them a comfortable 8-1 lead. The O's have now scored at least once in all three innings.

The rally began with a 1-out double by Luke Scott, followed by a Melvin Mora walk on four pitches. That brought Kevin Millar to the plate who drove Scott in with an RBI single. Mora scored one batter later on an Adam Jones groundout.

Brandon Fahey then doubled, before Freddie Bynum drove in a pair with a single. That was the end for Rangers starter Vincente Padilla who left after 2 2/3 innings, giving up nine hits and eight earned runs on 74 pitches.

Warner Madgiral has come in relief for the Rangers. He retired the first batter he faced, Nick Markekis, to end the inning.

Bynum and Markekis have come to the plate in each of the first three innings for the Orioles.

Seven different Orioles have at least one hit.

End 2nd: Orioles 4 - Rangers 1
The Orioles have taken the lead and seem to be getting to Rangers starter Vincente Padilla (46 pitches through two innings plus one meeting on the mound with pitching coach Mark Connor).

Brandon Fahey's 1-out RBI double down the left line drove in Kevin Millar and Adam Jones to give the O's a two-run lead. Millar reached base thanks to some patience at the plate, walking after 13 pitches. Millar then moved to second on Jones single to right.

Fahey eventually scored as well, on a Nick Markekis RBI single. Markekis is now 2-2 on the day with a run scored and an RBI.

Clouds seem to moving in quickly and could be arriving shortly.

Mid 1st: Rangers 1 - Orioles 0
Milton Bradley's 2-out double into left center drove in Josh Hamilton and has given the Rangers an early 1-0 lead.

Hamilton reached base on a 2-out walk.

Bradley was stranded on second when David Murphy struck out looking.
